232Analyzer
is an advanced rs232 protocol analyzer software,
which allows programmers, engineers and
others to
control (terminal, debugger), monitor (sniffer, data logger) serial port (RS232, RS485, RS422,
TTL, etc.)
activities.
232Analyzer supports data input (terminal,
debugger) and monitoring (sniffer, data logger) in Hexadecimal, Decimal, Octal, Binary
and ASCII formats. It also
allows you to change / monitor RS-232's line state: RTS, DTR, CTS,
DSR, DCD, and RI.
All data and signal flows are logged in the Communication Window,
which can be save as .txt, .doc or .rtf files for further analysis.
232Analyzer can be used as a:

|
|
Debugging
tool (RS232 Terminal)
|
232Analyzer allows you to send command codes to the controlled devices in
all data formats: Hexadecimal, Decimal, Octal, Binary and ASCII, with the
options of DELAY, REPEAT, and INTERVAL.
There are many reasons why different data
formats are necessary:
Although machines talk in Binary, it is much more convenient for us to use
Hexadecimal, decimal or readable characters (ASCII) as they are more understandable
and structured, moreover, many manufactures use different data formats for
different devices in their protocol manuals (some even use multiple formats
for one single device, such as Modicon Modbus Controllers).
Not
only command sequences can be sent to the controlled devices, 232Analyzer
also allows you to control the RS-232's line state (RTS and DTR).
With
the advanced feature of Programmable Buttons, 232Analyzer allows you to send
out up to 32 sets of command sequences at the click of a button, with the
timing and signal controls.
"Control sophisticated serial devices with a button click"
- this makes 232Analyzer an excellent tool for debugging serial devices.
|
Simulating tool (RS232 Terminal)
|
|
With
the advanced features of Programmable Auto-Response and Programmable Macros,
not only be able to respond to incoming data, it is also possible for
232Analyzer to respond to line state changes, or the combination of incoming
data and line state status.
By
using 232Analyzer, it is possible to simulate the behavior of a serial
device, which is particularly useful for generating test conditions that are
difficult to reproduce with the original device (e.g. UPS failure conditions).
|
|
|
Monitoring tool (RS232 Monitor, RS232 Sniffer, Data logger)
|
|
232Analyzer comes with monitoring feature with timestamps, it allows you to
monitor / spy communications between any other two serial devices, such as a
controller and P/T/Z (Pan/Tilt/Zoom) cameras. This is particularly useful if
you don't have the protocol manual from manufacturer.
You can choose either Half-Duplex or Full-Duplex (requires two COM ports in
your computer) methods to capture all the command flows (Note: signal state is not
recorded in monitoring mode).
|
Analyzing tool (RS232 Analyzer)
|
|
232Analyzer allows you to save the captured data (command codes and signal
changes) into log file in various formats: .txt, .doc or .rtf (rich text
file).
Incoming / outgoing commands and signals can be recorded in your preferred
color for easy analysis.
You
can also open previous log file and continue recording with the same file.
Search function is also available, it allows you to find the interested
command codes in seconds. |
